City Council · Meeting of February 12, 2026

PEABODY — The Peabody City Council voted 10-0 to adopt a state law letting wine and malt licensees convert to all-alcohol licenses. The Legal Affairs subcommittee recommended adoption 5-0 after Attorney Lashway, identified in a motion as the assistant city solicitor, outlined the program. She said the city has three on-premise wine and malt licenses issued, eight available and two all-alcohol licenses available, and put the renewal fee difference at about $600 ($1,650 versus $2,250).

The council also approved special permits for a Wonder restaurant on Andover Street, a flooring showroom on Lynn Street and a Pulaski Street distillery, each 10-0, and accepted a report backing a Complete Streets advisory committee proposed by Councilor Ladoff. It continued the 180 Newbury Street hearing to Feb. 26.
