Peabody's 01960 ZIP Tops Realtor.com's Hottest Markets List

Peabody's 01960 ZIP code has been named the hottest housing market in the country by Realtor.com, drawing coverage from Peabody Patch and a national Daily Mail feature this week. The recognition comes as the city gears up for its Summer Concert Series' concert and fireworks finale this Sunday and as mandatory outdoor water restrictions remain in effect under the state's drought declaration.

TOWN HALL

The city remains under the state's critical drought declaration, which has triggered mandatory outdoor water use restrictions in Peabody; the city's Phase II mandatory restrictions notice and drought information remain posted as an active alert on the municipal website.

Separately, the city is promoting its 2026 Summer Concert Series' capstone event, the annual Summer Concert & Fireworks Spectacular, set for this Sunday at Leather City Common with free parking. The senior center's shuttle service to the event begins at 4:45 p.m., according to the city's announcement.

SCHOOLS

Peabody Public Schools' near-term calendar shows a Regular School Committee meeting on August 25, followed by a new-teachers orientation day on August 26 and a professional-development day with no school for students on August 31. Kindergarten screening is set for September 2, the same day grades 1-12 return to class for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year.
