Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 14, 2026

PEABODY — The Peabody Conservation Commission denied a two-family home at Zero Aborn Street. Members voted 5-3 to deny after a motion to issue an order of conditions failed 3-5, citing wildlife protection, closeness to the stream and flooding. Neighbors, Ward 2 Councilor Wendy Laudroff and Councilor at Large Jacqueline Corvo opposed the project; Corvo said "this isn't one of them" when asked about good places for housing.

The commission approved the 36 Aborn Street driveway 7-1, contingent on an operation and maintenance plan, and closed the 21 Pleasant Street hearing 8-0. It also voted 8-0 on an order of conditions for Raising Cane's at 15 Sylvan Street. The applicant has 10 days to appeal the denial to DEP.
