PEABODY — The Peabody Zoning Board of Appeals upheld a building commissioner's enforcement order against a Meredith Road property owner and approved a Hampshire Road home addition. Attorney Brian McGrail, representing trustee James Ferrara, told the board a required land survey had been submitted to Building Commissioner St. Pierre, but the board voted 5-0 by roll call to uphold the original enforcement decision, denying the appeal. Separately, the board approved Mark DeFelice's variance for a family room and two-car garage at 3 Hampshire Road, 832 square feet where 500 is standard, on a 4-0 roll call after four neighbors submitted letters of support.
A pool cabana proposal at 17 Murdoch Drive, reduced from 407 to 250 square feet, was continued to October 19 after the chair said the plot plan mislabeled the structure "a deck" and failed to show the claimed reduction. "It doesn't matter what you're saying," the chair said of the plan's discrepancies.
