Peabody Schools Tapped For State Literacy Grant Funding

Peabody Public Schools is among the North Shore districts in line for new state literacy grant money aimed at strengthening reading instruction, according to a Peabody Patch report published Friday.

SCHOOLS

The district is one of several Massachusetts school systems, alongside neighboring Salem, selected for state PRISM grant funding meant to support reading instruction in the coming school year, per Peabody Patch's report headlined "Salem, Peabody Public Schools Awarded State Literacy Grants" (read it at patch.com). The outlet did not detail a specific dollar figure for Peabody's share in the portion available to Townbrief.

Separately, the district's calendar shows the School Committee holding a retreat later this month, one of the first items on the board's schedule as the 2026-2027 school year approaches.

COMING UP

The Peabody School Committee holds its retreat on Aug. 13 at the Wylie Center at Endicott College, according to the district's event calendar.
