Peabody Hosts Summer Concert, Fireworks Spectacular Sunday
DATELINE — PEABODY Peabody capped its 2026 Summer Concert Series with the annual Summer Concert and Fireworks Spectacular at Leather City Common Sunday evening, as City Hall also opened a public comment period on federal housing funds and confirmed early voting is underway ahead of the Sept. 1 state primary.

The city's free Summer Concert and Fireworks Spectacular drew crowds to Leather City Common Sunday night, with free parking offered and senior center shuttle service beginning at 4:45 p.m. for residents who wanted a ride to the show, according to the city's News Flash.
City Hall opened a 30-day public comment period on Peabody's annual report to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and scheduled a public meeting on the city's Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, part of its HOME and Community Development Block Grant compliance process. Separately, the state's critical drought declaration continues to keep mandatory outdoor water use restrictions in effect for Peabody, and Central Street remains under construction downtown, with the city warning of ongoing traffic detours and travel impacts for drivers.

Peabody honored the winners of its America 250 student essay contest at a City Hall ceremony, the city's News Flash announced, though specific student names were not included in the posting.
