Library Branches Shift Summer Hours Starting July 6
PEABODY — The Peabody Institute Library's South and West branches moved to new summer hours effective July 6, while the city continues to showcase a reproduction of the Declaration of Independence at Wiggin Auditorium as part of the nation's 250th anniversary observances.

The Peabody Institute Library has adjusted hours at its South and West branches, effective July 6: both locations are now open Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday 1 to 9 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Fridays and Sundays closed. The Main Library on Main Street continues to keep its longer weekly schedule, including evening hours Monday through Thursday.
The library also continues to promote its Local History resources, including the Sutton Room's George Peabody archives and Audubon prints, its digitized Peabody newspaper archive running from 1844 through the present, and its Teen "100 Books Before Graduation" reading challenge, which lets teens in grades 9-12 log reading on Beanstack for prizes.
