Peabody's Central Street reconstruction project continues to disrupt travel through downtown, and the city has posted detour routes and traffic-impact information to help drivers navigate the area while construction continues.
The state's critical drought declaration has triggered mandatory outdoor water use restrictions in Peabody. The city says the restrictions now fall under Phase II mandatory water rules and is directing residents to its drought information page for details on complying with the limits while the drought persists.
City Hall has also opened a 30-day public comment period on its annual action report to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and scheduled a public meeting to review the city's Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, which covers Peabody's use of HUD funding.
